So...let's begin activity which is given by Barad sir as a task of Mid turm.

1) Characteristics of Metaphysical poetry with explosion of a few metaphysical poetry written by John Donne as well as any metaphysical poet.

First let's know somthing about "Metaphysical"....

Metaphysics is a major branch of philosophy. It concerns existence and the nature of things that exist. Altogether it is a theory of reality.... The metaphysical idea that no mind-independent reality exists or can be known is idealism. These are two main battlegrounds of metaphysics.

A group of poets which emerged in the beginning of the seventeenth century, tried to write poetry in a different way which with a passing of time came to be known as the metaphysical poetry.

Meta” means “beyond” and “physics” means “physical nature”. Metaphysical poetry means poetry that goes beyond the physical world of the senses and explores the spiritual world. Metaphysical poetry began early in the Jacobean Age in the last stage of the age of Shakespeare. John Donne was the leader and founder of the metaphysical school of poetry. Dryden used this word at first and said that Donne “affects the metaphysics”

Metaphysical poetry:-

In the first half of the 17th century,a group of poets emarged whose poetry is known as the metaphysical poetry.

Since John Donne was the pionier of this group,it is also known as the school of Donne.

Others are followed the footsteps of Donne Abraham Cowley, Henry Vaughan, Richard Crashaw, Andrew Marvell, George Herbert, Robert Herrick etc.

John Donne (1572-1631)...

He was the most influential metaphysical poet. His personal relationship with spirituality is at the center of most of his work, and the psychological analysis and sexual realism of his work marked a dramatic departure from traditional, genteel verse. His early work, collected in satires and in sonnets, was released in an era of religious oppression. His holy sonnets, which contains many of Donne’s most enduring poems, was released shortly after his wife died in childbirth. The intensity with which Donne grapples with concepts of divinity and mortality in the holy sonnets is exemplified in “sonnet X,” “sonnet XIV,” and “sonnet XVII.”

There are certain characteristics of the metaphysical poetry. The chief of them are as under:-

1) Conscious Attempt
2) Far fetched Image
3) Display of Scholarship

Conscious Attempt:- All the METAPHYSICAL
Poets made a Conscious Attempt to differ in the style of writing poetry from the formal poets.
They wanted to establish their unique identity as poets.

Far Fetched image:- Far fetched image and concepts is one more feature of the Metaphysical poetry they never tried to use and express their image from field with which the theme of their poems so there are called far fetched imagies. They tried to bring their imagies from the branches just like Architecture,Biology,Geometry and any other fields which have nothing commen with thems of their poems. Draw attention of readers and it made them established poets.

Display of Scholarship :-All the metaphysical poets were university graduates, men of learning and wit. It was to display their knowledge that they tried to differ from the former poets.

List of poetry:-

1.The Sun Rising
2.Holy Sonnets
3.The Flea
4.The Dream
5.The Sweetest Love
6.The Ecstacy

Here I'm going to interpret about (touch on word) to see blog"The Sweetest Love"

3) If you can write creative poems, try to rewrite or creat new metaphysical poem in either English or Gujrati or Hindi or Sanskrit language.
