So let's start the task first we have to coin out the term MODERNISM...

Modernism is both a philosophical movement and an art movement that arose from broad transformations in Western society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

As per mine point of view Modernism doesn't mean something contemporary which talk about modern fashion, culture and something new it's call modernism. Another way i just wanna  say that modernism is a opposite side of tradition. It means to Broken all the culture, traditions it's call modernism.

Here I'm going to interpret the poems...

While we read the poem and going to analys the lyrics or stanza... We are facing the same problem or situation as we watching in this GIF. As I'm using the metaphor of GIF to understand the situation or a multi thoughts. We faced many imaginary, symbols and metaphor as well. So let's analys the poems as the using of IMAGINARY, SYMBOLS AND METAPHOR.

Some Characteristic of Modernism:-

The gentleman is fallen and he himself admits that once he enjoyed the life but now he has to face hard life of poor people. People who don’t have basic needs like food, cloths, shelter. So the old man asking God to have some mercy and make blanket of sky which he can wrap and can have warmth in cold. The stars are not beautiful in this poem. And tear from a passer-by with muddy skirts
